Teamwork
Whatever you do, play fair with the associates.
For example, there are mortgage brokers (and other professionals) among our associates who do not charge you for their services*. Take the mortgage broker as an example. Many brokers will make a charge for searching for mortgage terms and this charge is made in advance and is in addition to a commission they receive from a bank or building society. In contrast, our broker associates make no up-front charge, are paid by the bank or building society and see to it that the bank or building society charge is at a low rate. It is important that, having negotiated these excellent terms, we do our best to protect the goodwill shown by these associates. This does not mean you are required to make a commitment before time. However, just because services are free to you, we respectfully ask you not to put our associates to a lot of work unless you have some serious intent.
*Some enquirers abuse the services of mortgage brokers asking for terms when they have little or no intention of following through. As a result many brokers are switching to a fee in advance of the work they are being asked to do. Whilst I understand the need for professional people to protect their own interests I think this system helps neither the service provider nor the client. Although this habit of an advance on the fee appears to be increasing we shall attempt to avoid this practice.
When you are near to appointing an associate you will want to see him or her to make an assessment before you appoint them. This meeting to make an assessment should be free but please ask the question when you make the appointment. And before any of this, allow us to make the introduction so that you qualify for cashback.
